Project Need :
Reason for undertaking the work: eg upgrading the existing treatment works to meet tighter consent
Description of Works;
Guerney Slade –a Wessex Water site, had been identified as an unsatisfactory intermittent discharge (UID) on aesthetic grounds. The site required a new CSO chamber to be constructed.
The design of this location was such that considerable savings could be achieved if power was not imperative to the operation of a screening device.
The low flow (40l/s), and high spill frequency at this location meant the non-powered Copa Cyclone would be ideally suited.
The overall project cost excluding civil works was £7,000
